Roof Replacement by WM Contracting

Replacement

What this involves.

Most of the roofs we replace in North Texas come off because a storm finished them. Hail bruises shingles and knocks the granules loose, wind breaks the seal strips that hold each course down, and a roof that looked fine from the driveway starts letting water in a season or two later. Replacement is our main line of work, and most of it runs through a homeowner’s insurance claim.

It starts with a free, no-obligation inspection. We go over the shingles, flashing, vents and ridges, look at the gutters, siding and window screens for the dents and marks a hailstone leaves, and check the attic side for early signs of water. Everything we find is photographed. You get a plain explanation of whether the roof needs targeted repairs, a full replacement, or nothing yet.

How It Works

01

Free inspection

We inspect the roof and the exterior and document any damage with photos and notes.

02

You decide on the claim

If there is storm damage worth filing for, we help you understand what to tell your carrier. The decision is yours.

03

Adjuster and scope

We can meet the adjuster on site, review the carrier’s estimate against our findings, and send supplements for anything it missed.

04

The new roof

Once the scope is agreed and you sign, our own employees install your new roof.

The Difference

What to know before you decide.

When the roof does need replacing and the damage came from a storm, the claim usually decides the scope. We help you understand what to tell your carrier, meet the adjuster on site when you want us there, and go through the carrier’s estimate line by line against what we found. If the estimate leaves out items the roof needs, we send supplement documentation asking for them to be added. You stay in control of every claim decision; we do the roofing side of the paperwork.

A replacement comes down to the deck. With the old shingles and underlayment off, soft or rotted decking becomes visible and gets replaced before anything new goes on. Then the new roof is built back in layers: underlayment, flashing at walls and penetrations, vents, starter course, field shingles and ridge. The shingle is a conversation to have before the claim closes, because a Class 4 impact-resistant shingle can change what you pay for insurance later, and some carriers give a premium credit for one.

The people on your roof are WM Contracting employees. After a big hail event North Texas fills up with out-of-town storm crews working for whoever hired them that week. Using our own employees is how we keep the workmanship and the communication the same from one job to the next.

We work on asphalt shingle, metal and flat roofs, on homes and on commercial buildings. For a typical 2,000 square foot architectural shingle roof in North Texas, the full replacement cost runs roughly $9,500 to $15,000. On a covered storm claim the insurance pays that amount less your deductible, and the deductible is always yours to pay under Texas law and your policy. We do not waive or absorb it.

Before You Call

Replacement, answered.

How much does a roof replacement cost in North Texas?

For a typical 2,000 square foot home with architectural shingles, a full replacement runs roughly $9,500 to $15,000. Roof size, pitch, the number of valleys, decking repairs and the shingle you choose move it within that range. On an approved storm claim, the carrier pays the covered amount less your deductible.

Will insurance pay for my new roof?

If a covered storm damaged the roof, it often does, subject to your deductible and your policy. The inspection tells you whether there is storm damage worth filing for. If there is not, we say so, and you have not spent anything to find out.

Do you waive deductibles?

No. Your deductible is your responsibility under Texas law and your policy terms, and we do not waive or absorb it.

Who does the installation?

WM Contracting’s own employees. We do not hand roofs off to temporary storm crews.

What kinds of roofs do you replace?

Asphalt shingle, metal and flat roofs, on homes and commercial buildings across North Texas.
