Insurance Claims

What this involves.

A hail or wind claim lands on top of everything else a storm leaves behind, and most homeowners file one a handful of times in their lives. The insurance side of a storm roof is a large part of what we do. You make the claim decisions and deal directly with your carrier; we supply the roofing knowledge and the documentation, and we stay with it until the roof is finished.

The claim starts with our inspection, usually within a few days of the storm or of your call. We document the damage with photos and notes that can support a claim, then go through the findings with you so you can decide whether filing makes sense. If you file, we can help you understand what information to give your carrier when you call.

How It Works

01

Free inspection

We inspect the roof and the exterior and document any damage with photos and notes.

02

You decide on the claim

If there is storm damage worth filing for, we help you understand what to tell your carrier. The decision is yours.

03

Adjuster and scope

We can meet the adjuster on site, review the carrier’s estimate against our findings, and send supplements for anything it missed.

04

The new roof

Once the scope is agreed and you sign, our own employees install your new roof.

The Difference

What to know before you decide.

Once a claim is open, the carrier assigns an adjuster, and a visit to the property is often scheduled within one to two weeks. You are not required to have a roofer there, but many homeowners want one. When you ask us to, we are on site for the adjuster meeting to point out the damage we documented and answer questions about materials and what the repair needs.

The carrier then prepares its initial estimate, usually within about a week of the visit. We review that estimate with you and compare it against our inspection findings and the needs of the roof. When it leaves out necessary items or quantities, we provide supplement documentation, a formal request to add missing or underpaid items so the scope reflects the damage, local code and the manufacturer’s requirements. Supplements commonly take one to three weeks depending on the carrier.

A denial is not always the end of it. If your carrier denies the claim, we review the denial letter alongside our inspection findings, explain what it means, and talk through whether requesting a reinspection is appropriate. In some cases more documentation or a more detailed damage report helps if the carrier allows another review. We do not control outcomes or make coverage decisions, and nobody honest can promise one.

Some things we will not do. We do not adjust claims, and we do not waive or absorb deductibles; the deductible is yours under Texas law and your policy. Once the scope is agreed with your carrier and you sign a roofing agreement, we schedule the replacement and keep you informed about timing and what the carrier may still ask for.

Before You Call

Insurance Claims, answered.

What if my roof claim is denied?

We review the denial with our inspection findings, explain what the letter means and discuss whether asking for a reinspection is appropriate. We cannot promise an outcome, and coverage decisions stay with the carrier.

Do I need to be home for the adjuster?

You do not need a roofer there, though many homeowners want one. We can attend on request to point out the damage and answer questions about the roof.

How long does a roof claim take?

It varies by carrier and storm. Commonly: a few days to inspect and decide, one to two weeks for the adjuster visit, one to three weeks for the estimate and any supplements, then scheduling the roof around weather and materials.

What is a supplement?

A formal request to the carrier to add items the first estimate missed or underpaid, backed by documentation, so the approved scope matches the damage and the code requirements.

Can you cover my deductible?

No. The deductible is yours under Texas law and your policy, and we do not waive or absorb it.
